Nadia Comaneci - (born on 12 November 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej or now Onesti, Romania), Romanian gymnast. First gymnast in history to earn a 10. competing in the Olympics. Bela Karalyi was introduced to Comaneci at age six. Comaneci would go on to become the Romanian gymnastics coach. The first time she competed at the national junior championships of 1969 and finished 13th. She took the title in 1970. In her very first international event in 1972 she won the event with three gold medals. Her debut as a senior in 1975 she beat the Russian Lyudmila Turkishcheva. The five-time European champion who won four gold medals and one silver. In 1976, she was the winner of the American Cup at the New York City Olympics. She also became the first woman ever to remove the parallel bars using the double backward salto. She began her career in the entertainment industry as a teenager performing as an ice skating duo along with their sister Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment program Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on 6th September 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. Carol was a professional as an entertainer in her teens. She started her career as a figure skater, performing alongside her sibling Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around known as Ice Capades. Ice Capades showcased performances of skating on ice by actors.
